Can Tamanu Oil Ease Your Eczema?

Can Tamanu Oil Ease Your Eczema?

In traditional African and Asian medicine, a natural remedy known as tamanu oil has long been used to soothe the skin and treat a range of skin disorders (including eczema, a condition estimated to affect about 30 million Americans). Sourced from the seeds of an evergreen tree called Calophyllum inophyllum, tamanu oil is thought to alleviate eczema-associated inflammation when applied directly to the skin.
In preliminary studies, scientists have found that tamanu oil contains calophyllolide (a substance known to offer anti-inflammatory benefits). In addition, there's evidence that tamanu oil serves a source of delta-tocotrienol (a form of vitamin E, a substance sometimes used in treatment of eczema).
For more help in easing eczema naturally, also consider topical treatments made with licorice or sea buckthorn. Some research indicates that taking probiotic supplements may also alleviate eczema symptoms. Read the full article: Tamanu Oil.

Has anyone used Tamanu Oil and if so, what for and what were your results?

I'm specifically trying it for (what appears to be) weeping areolar eczema. I'd like to know if anyone else has used this, what for, and what results they achieved.

I used Tamanu Oil (100%) about 10 years ago when I was in Hawaii. I used it to treat acne and acne scars. It was wonderful. I had positive results within 3 days and I was free of all acne scars in a week.
